Table Top Talk: Thanksgiving

Table Top Talk: Thanksgiving

thanksgiving tables can be daunting to hosts. there’s the overwhelm of food, family, friends, & add on to that- decorating- it can be a lot. we like to keep it simple at kd weave, & so we’re going to share a setup that can work in any home. we’re using things you probably already have in your home & garden to get maximum impact.

let’s get started!

let textiles do the talkin.

if you are going to buy something for this special meal, let it be textiles. we used a green gingham tablecloth from Mirth.

we’ve got great options for tablecloths, napkins, runners, & placemats all on kdweave.com too.

everybody’s got white plates. use them!

there are now overwhelming examples of elaborate tablescapes with fun plates, & there is nothing wrong with that. but, white/cream plates are such a classic. mine are Sophie Conran (one of my wedding patterns), & I love using my full set with all the accessories for special occasions. pull out your china for big events like thanksgiving!

#tabletoptip: set it up before the big day!

do not leave the decorating until the guests arrive. lay it out, think through what serving pieces you need, & make sure you have enough place settings. another #tip: if you are entertaining for a larger crowd & run out of place settings, change it up on the heads of table or alternate variations to mix patterns. it doesn’t have to be rigid. have fun with it!

straw chargers, terra cotta, & simple flowers all bring a natural element to finish the table. again, used plain white napkins here to keep it classic, and let the interesting elements shine.

there’s no right way to set the table, but it is important it’s set. take a minute to set a special table for your friends & family.

we love helping you put together your tables! feel free to email us at kd.weave@gmail.com . also, check out our new consulting option we are honored to help you gather well.
